Cardiac Sonographer

Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand
  • Permanent, full-time opportunity 1.0 FTE (40hrs per week) based at Christchurch Hospital
  • Registration with the MRTB is essential and an Annual Practicing will need to be maintained


Mō te tūnga - About the Role


The Echo team is a small team who work closely with the Echo consultants. They are part of the larger cardiac technical team.


This is a permanent full-time role for an experienced Cardiac Sonographer, with on call hours required.


Ko wai koe - About You


In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing and reporting echos, exercise echos, and assisting in DSEs in the Echo department;
  • Observing professional ethics and demonstrating professional responsibility and accountability;
  • Developing departmental skills and standards, as well as maintaining adequate knowledge and sufficient training to carry out clinical procedures.


This role will require participation in 'on call' services, as well as overtime where needed.


Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako - Skills and Experience


  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate will be mandatory;
  • Registration with the MRTB is essential;
  • Minimum requirement of Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound or equivalent.
