Heart Failure Clinical Fellow

Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital offer an exciting opportunity for a fellowship in Heart Failure (HF). The post is suitable for someone who wishes to obtain advanced subspecialty training in heart failure, particularly those approaching their CCT. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to both the inpatient and outpatient care of HF patients, on a full-time basis, as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post will run for 6/12 months depending on the candidate’s preference.


The HF team at GSTT consists of five HF consultants, HF specialist nurses, HF pharmacists, HF physiologists and HF trainees. The post provides excellent training in HF, general cardiology and depending on the candidate’s preferences and experiences, there will also be the option for modular training in specific areas of HF (transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, cardio-oncology and community heart failure care) and ICC (inherited arrhythmia, aortopathy, metabolic diseases, neuromuscular disease and cardiomyopathy, as well as blocks of training within the genetics department). In addition, there is also be the opportunity for experience in advanced imaging (cardiac MRI and CT, advanced echo and nuclear imaging).


If suitably trained, the candidate will be offered the option to join the general cardiology SpR on call rota alongside 11 other SpRs.
